Built on cutting-edge technology (Rust + Tauri), Stonqs is lightning-fast, uses minimal system resources, and feels smooth even with thousands of transactions.
When you open Stonqs for the first time, click "+ Add Account" on the main screen. You can name it anything (e.g., "My Brokerage", "401k", "Crypto Wallet"), select the currency, and begin adding your holdings.
From your broker's website, export your transaction history. Look for a download or export button (usually called CSV, Excel, or Account History). Once you have the file, in Stonqs, click "Import" and select that file. The app will automatically match and add the transactions.
The dashboard shows your portfolio at a glance. Time-Weighted Return (TWR) measures how your investments perform, removing the effect of deposits or withdrawals you make. The Money-Weighted Return (XIRR) reflects your actual personal return, including the timing of your money moves. Both are valuable — Stonqs gives you both.
We recommend backing up your data folder regularly (just copy the Stonqs data folder to a USB drive or cloud storage you trust). This ensures your records remain safe even if your computer changes.
